I am truly grateful to my five uncles and all other veterans who have served for our freedom. You have to know your dad loves you more than you can imagine. We celebrate this day because these heroes faced great danger and risked their lives for us every day. At the local level students were honored with a certificate, and their work moves on to district and state competition. We think of those who have served and lost their lives fighting for our country.

I cannot imagine what life would be like today if there had never been soldiers to fight for my rights as an American.
This says that we pledge ourselves to the United States and the flag. Every one of those soldiers had family here in America that were affected by his death.
Next, this holiday means a time to be grateful for the people who defend the beliefs our country. In World War I, there were approximatelyveterans killed in service.
I believe we should thank them whenever possible because they have sacrificed so much for what they believe in and have fought for the freedom of all Americans. But their selflessness is exactly the reason we celebrate them because they gave their lives for their country, their people and their freedom.

The contest also demonstrates that Members of your Lodge are proud to be Americans, proud to be Elks and proud to participate in the Americanism programs of Grand Lodge. Summit Elks announce Americanism Essay Contest –

They have a choice whether or not they want to or not. The contest is open to grades and teachers have the option of having their students take part in the contest.
