In two controversial writings the two both show similarities, from the “A clear a Midnight” By Walt Whitman and the short story “To Build a Fire” by Jack London both show similarity to Chris Mccandless from “Into the Wild” by Jon Krakauer having the desire to be a free individual in the wilderness, and also ending their lives with true dignity. Krakauer provides much of his intertextual references through the form of one or often two epigraphs at the beginning of each chapter.
